The Carrollton Community Unit School District (CUSD) No. 1 Board recently held a special meeting, mainly for strategic planning purposes.

The board discussed collaborative district goal setting and planning efforts, and talked belief statements, the district's mission statement and the district's direction going forward.

The board also approved Justin Remington as the new athletic director and physical education teacher. Other new hires included Blaine Hartwick as an agriculture teacher and Danielle Schroeder as a drama coach.

The board also held a closed session to discuss any sensitive personnel issues, usually pertaining to appointments, compensation, discipline, performance or terminations.
