The Jacksonville City Council met March 28 with Mayor Andy Ezard noting that April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, according to the National Safety Council.
Local groups have partnered with schools to request that drivers commit to safely driving without distractions such as cell phones as they travel. There are also several local student representatives involved in the movement.
The city attorney also reported on a resolution to authorize the Collective Bargaining Agreement involving the city and the Laborer’s International Union of North America, Laborers’ Local No. 477, from 2016-2020.
