Bond CUSD board presents pre-school information

The Bond County Community Unit School District No. 2 Board of Education met Nov. 7 to present pre-school information.

Bond County Community Unit School District No. 2 Board of Education Special Meeting Minutes

November 7, 2016

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Bond County Community Unit No. 2 was held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Office of Student Services Conference Room.

Board President Edmar Schreiber called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

Those present were board members Doll, Prater, Schreiber, Timmermann, Workman, Young, and Zykan. Others present were Superintendent Wes Olson; PreK/Parenting/Special Education Coordinator Scott Pasley, Business Manager Dena Petroline, WGEL Radio Jeff Leidel, Ernie Oakley, Austin Kastl, and Barney Mundorf.

PARENTING AND KRP GRANTS Scott Pasley presented information to the board regarding the Preschool For All

Expansion (PFAE) Grant and Prevention Initiative Expansion (PI-E) Grant. The district was a recipient of the grants which will lead to an expansion and enhancement of the current Preschool programs in Greenville, Mulberry Grove, Pocahontas, and Sorento and the Bond County Project Parenting Program. This Will include the addition of staff and Services to meet the needs of At-Risk Preschool-Aged Children as well as At-Risk Children age Birth to Three. These positions will be for the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year and are tied directly to the PFAE and P-E grants which will end on June 30, 2017. There will be twelve positions available between the two grants. Mr. Pasley would like to post these job vacancies and have recommendations for hire at the November 21 regular school board meeting.

EXECUTIVE SESSION Motion by Timmermann, second by Doll, that the board of education enter into

executive meeting at 7:18 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal Counsel for the District to determine its validity, and collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees, Roll call vote: Doll, yes, Prater, yes, Schreiber, yes, Timmermann, yes, Workman, yes, Young, yes, Zykan, yes. Motion carried 7-0.

Motion by Timmermann, second by Workman, that the board of education return to open session at 9:14 p.m. Roll call vote: Doll, yes; Prater, yes; Schreiber, yes; Timmermann, yes; Workman, yes, Young, yes, Zykan, yes. Motion carried 7-0.

Motion by Timmermann, second by Doll, that the meeting be adjourned at 9:15 p.m. Voice vote. Motion carried 7-0.
