West Central Community Unit School District 235 met February 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting was called to order by President Brent at 5:30 pm in the Elementary Cafeteria. The following Board members answered roll call: Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye; White, absent. President Brent declared a quorum present. Also present were P. Markey and N. Clark.

Approve Agenda:

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Lumbeck to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye; White, absent; Anderson, aye. Motion carried.

Recognition of Audience Request for Presentation: 

No one wished to address the Board on any agenda items.

Action items: 

Motion by Lumbeck, seconded by Buss the Board approve the settlement agreement between West Central C.U.S.D. #235 and Andrew J. Eeten as presented. Roll call: Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye; White, absent; Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Lumbeck the Board accept the resignation of Andrew J. Eeten, Physical Education/Spanish teacher effective February 14, 2017 as presented. Roll call: Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye; White, absent; Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Buss the Board accept the resignation of Jacklyn Olson as part time district custodian as presented. Roll call: Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye; White, absent. Motion carried.

Motion Anderson, seconded by Buss the Board accept the resignation of Andrew J. Eeten as West Central High School Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach effective February 14, 2017 as presented. Roll call: Lumbeck, aye; White, absent; Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent, Brent, aye; Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent. Motion carried.

Motion by Lumbeck, seconded by Anderson, the Board employ Amy Olson as the West Central High School Girls’ Basketball Coach effective February 15, 2017 as presented. Roll call: White, absent; Anderson, aye; Arnold, absent; Brent, aye; Buss, aye; Lenahan, absent; Lumbeck, aye. Motion carried.

Future Meeting Date: 

The Board was reminded that the next regular Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. The regular March Board Meeting will begin at 6:00 pm.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Lumbeck to adjourn at 5:41 pm. The vote was unanimous. Motion carried.
