Here is the agenda provided by the Council:

Petitions

Ward 7

By the Quincy Rotary Club requesting permission to close York Street, 9th to 11th, 10th Street, York to Jersey, and 9th Street, York to Kentucky, on October 7th from noon to 10:00 p.m. for the “Oktoberfest”.

Ward 7

By the District requesting permission to close Maine St., 6th to 7th, on August 6th from noon to 11:00 p.m. for the “Feast on Maine”. Live acoustic music will be played throughout the event. Proper permits will be obtained.

By the Quincy Kiwanis Club requesting permission to hold their “Peanut Day” on September 8th at various locations throughout the city.

By the following organizations requesting to conduct a raffle and have the bond requirement waived: Scoreboard/Benefit for Vicki McColez from now until August 5th; Machinist Lodge 822 Retirees Club from July 4th to September 4th. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permits.

Ward 3,4,7

By St. Jude Run/Quincy requesting permission to hold a run on August 4th starting at 3:00 p.m. They are requesting the west part of the parking lot at 5th & Vermont be closed from August 2nd at 8:00 p.m. through August 4th at 3:00 p.m. They also request “no parking” signs be set up on August 4th on the south side of Maine St., 7th to 8th and 21st to 22nd, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to aid in the parking of motor homes via runner stops. The run will begin at 5th & Vermont, go south on 5th to Maine then east on Maine to 54th

Street, north on 54th to Broadway continuing out on 104. A police escort will be used on the routes where runners are on the street.

Ward 3

By the Quincy Symphony requesting permission to host a “Beat Beethoven” 5k run on September 16th starting at 8:00 a.m. to benefit the Quincy Symphony. They will start at 36th St. and Wavering Park, east to 39th St., right on Columbus Road, left on Columbus Rd to Nottingham Dr., North to Abbey Ridge, west through Abbey Ridge to Marian Drive, west to 39th Street north through Moorman Park back to 36th St. & Wavering Park entrance.

Reports Of The Traffic Commission

Ward 2

Recommending approval to implement “30 Minute” parking along the west side of North 12th St., commencing at a point 131 ft. north of the northwest curb line of Spring St. and extending north a distance of 70 ft.

Ward 5

Recommending approval to remove parking along the north side of South Holford Dr., commencing at a point 100 ft. west of the west curb line of West Holford Dr. and extending west a distance of 42 ft.

Ward 5

Recommending approval to implement “Stop” signs at the intersection of South 28th St. and Midlan Dr., with traffic on Midlan Dr. stopping for traffic on South 28th St.

Ward 3

Recommending approval to implement a “Stop” sign at the intersection of North 28th and Cedar Streets with northbound traffic on North 28th St. stopping for traffic on Cedar St.

Ward 2

Recommending approval to change the “Yield” signs to “Stop” signs at the intersection of North 16th St. and College Ave., with northbound and southbound traffic on North 16th St. stopping for traffic on College Ave.

Ward 7

Recommending approval to that three “2 Hour” parking stalls (24 hours a day) be established along the west side of South 8th St., commencing at the northwest curb line of Ohio St. and extending north a distance of 100 ft. The Commission further recommends that “2 Hour” parking (24 hours a day) be implemented along the east side of South 8th St., commencing at the northeast curb line of Ohio St. and extending north a distance of 200 ft. to the alley.

Notice of hearing by the Illinois Commerce Commission vs. Ameren Illinois Company d/b/a Ameren Illinois on Petition for approval of Rider EE-Energy Efficiency and Demand Response Investment pursuant to 220 ILCS 5/8-103B(k) at the office of the Commission, Springfield, IL on September 27th at 9:30 a.m.
