Hancock County Building, Grounds and Insurance Committee Met September 14

Hancock County Building, Grounds and Insurance Committee met Sept. 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Building, Grounds and Insurance Committee met in the County Board Room at 6:30 pm. Members present were Tom Scheetz, Chairman, Patsy Davis, Tom Rodgers, Stephen Finney, Bryan Stevens, Gary Dittmer, and Delbert Kreps, Chairman of the Board. Absent was Dennis Castlebury.

Fifty-six claims were reviewed for payment by the committee. After reviewing a motion was made by Tom Rodgers, to present these claims for payment. Stephen Finney reconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Scott Bentzinger, County Sheriff, entered the meeting and informed the member he did have 28 inmates and five of these were females. Scott did state that they did get the ten to DCF that have been waiting to go.

Scott also informed the members of an accident that happened in Hamilton and the prisoner got away with the deputy's car and the deputy was injured slightly trying to stop him. He also has another deputy that was injured in and arrest and is on Workman's Comp. also. Scott informed the members that the Physician that usually checks the inmates out has always charged $45.00 but is has gone up to $50.00 now. Scott was ask if had any COVID19 out there and he stated no, one was tested but was alright.

Tom stated that he would table the Windmills discussion for Hancock County until next month's meeting

Tom also stated he had mailed the exact same specs to ICRMT, CERMA, and Ramsey Financial for bids on the Liability and Workman's Comp Insurance and we will get the bids by next month and they will be opened at the next meeting and a decision will be made to present to the full board.

Delbert discussed the problem we have been having on the bridge down in Bear Creek Township and the members stated this was a Township Bridge problem and nothing the County could do. The members discussed this at great length and feel there is nothing the County can do.

Having nothing further to discuss a motion by Bryan Stevens to recess until October 12, 2020 at 6:30pm. Stephen Finney seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
