McDonough County Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met May 9.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dustin Berg, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Patrick Stout, Sheriff Nick Petitgout, Judge Heidi Benson, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of April 11, 2023 Minutes
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that it had rained but he isn’t sure if the field has been planted.
Administrator’s Report
The Census is at 64, with 7 being Medicare, 45 being Medicaid and, 14 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $212,092.68. There were 47 admissions, and 41 discharges.
Financial Report
This will be handled at the June meeting.
Elms Claims
Claims will be taken care of at the Finance meeting this month.
Macomb Public Building Commission
No report.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. The State’s Attorney’s office is coming along and he will have bids for finishing the office at the June meeting. The floor and ceiling in the Voter’s Registration office has been started, and a roofing company has been working on the roof at the Sheriff’s Department. Wilson also discussed the bids for a new a/c unit to go on the roof of the Courthouse. Sheriff Petitgout informed the Committee that he had to fill out a survey about security at the Courthouse, and Judge Benson held a discussion on this as well.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the April, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Administrator Resignation
Chair Aurelio informed the Committee that the Elms Administrator has resigned as of May 26th. Aurelio would like to have a Committee of 3 to conduct the interviews for the position.

Executive Session
A motion to enter into Executive Session was made by Member Cortelyou with a second by Member Litchfield to discuss Contract negotiation for Elms Administrator pursuant to Chapter 5, Illinois Compiled Statutes Section 120/2 C (1) (2) and (11) at 7:37 p.m. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 0 absent.
A motion to exit Executive Session was made by Member Litchfield with a second by Member Cortelyou at 7:53 p.m. No action taken. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 0 absent.

County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that Karen Blakeley has resigned from the Board of Health.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Kipling to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
