McDonough County Board Finance Committee met Aug. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance Committee budget meeting was held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Letha Clark, Joe Erlandson, and Dave Nissen. Members Larry Aurelio, Dave Cortelyou, and Mike Cox were absent. Others in attendance included Vicky Kipling, Patrick Stout, Erica Thurman, Deborah Cousins, Ian Fischer, Stephanie Hilton, Angela Graves, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes. 

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

New Business

Erica Thurman - Probation

Erica Thurman submitted her budget request, a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Miscellaneous

Various levies were discussed, to include the Health Department, and the Elms.

Deborah Cousins - Assessor

Deborah Cousins submitted her budget request, a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Miscellaneous

Various levies were discussed, to include the 708 Mental Health Board, Veteran’s Assistance, Chief Judge, Waste Management, and the Cooperative Extension.

Ian Fischer – Circuit Clerk

Ian Fischer submitted his budget request, a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Stephanie Hilton – Public Defender

Stephanie Hilton submitted her budget request, a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Angela Graves - Treasurer

Angela Graves submitted her budget request, a discussion was held and questions were answered.

Adjourn

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Erlandson to adjourn the meeting at 11:00 a.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
