McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met March 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Members Dave Nissen, Vicky Kipling, and Dustin Berg were absent. Others in attendance included Joe Rossmiller, Patrick Stout, Bonnie Skripps, John Vigezzi, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from February 8, 2024

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Animal Control Officer, Joe Rossmiller gave the report. There was 25 dogs and 29 cats in the shelter at the end of February.

Humane Society

Bonnie Skripps informed the Committee that the Casino Night fundraiser raised over $60,000.00. They are looking at buildings that could be used as the animal shelter.

Policies and Procedures

Chair Schwerer held a discussion regarding making some changes regarding the Finance Committee.

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Dixon for the Vice Chair of a Committee to be able to go to the Finance Committee Meeting in place of the absent Chair of that Committee and have full authority of said Chair. Motion carried on a voice vote.

GIS Update

No report.

Claims

Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

None.

County Board Chair Comments

Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that bids were opened last Friday for the Courthouse Restoration, Klingner is reviewing the bids and he should have more information to share at the full Board meeting this month.

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Kirby to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
