City of Greenville Tourism Committee met Feb. 26.

4.1. Minutes of 10/23/2025 Meeting.

Motion by Catherine Perkins, seconded by Jennifer Gillan, Motion to approve the October 23, 2025 meeting minutes as presented.

5. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION 

5.1. Tourism grant request for Bond County 4th Fest in the amount of $15,000. The city is budgeting $25,000.

Motion by Jennifer Gillan, seconded by Catherine Perkins, Motion to recommend to the City Council the tourism grant request for Bond County 4th Fest in the amount of $2500 for marketing expenses following grant guidelines. There will also be a separate grant for aerial displays/fireworks in the amount of $22,500. The total amount given to the Bond County 4th Fest will be in the amount of $25,000.

Motion to recommend to the City Council a 4th Fest 2026 contribution in the amount of $15,000. 

5.2. Tourism request from I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic scheduled for January 18-19, 2026. Note: the request was submitted on time, but there was not a tourism meeting scheduled prior to the occurrence of the clinic. This is a budgeted item. Motion by Kathy Brewer, seconded by Jennifer Gillan, Motion to recommend to the city the tourism grant request in the amount of $3,000 for the I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic which has already occurred.

Motion by Laura Wall, seconded by Catherine Perkins, Motion to recommend to the City Council the tourism grant for the American Heritage RR-Train Show in the amount of $750.

5.4. Tourism grant request for Heritage Days at the American Farm Heritage Museum in the amount of $6,000.00, this is a budgeted amount.

Motion by Catherine Perkins, seconded by Kathy Brewer, Motion to recommend to the city council the tourism grant request for Heritage Days at the American Farm Heritage Museum in the amount of $6,000.00, the allowed amount is $3000 but this is an additional $3000.

5.5. Tourism Request for the Spring Fling Festival at the American Farm Heritage Museum in the amount of $750; this is a budgeted item.

Kathy Brewer asked if anything new would be added to the Spring Fling this year. Page 2 of 3

Ken Gaffney was present to answer any questions. They are working on adding something new in recognition of America 250 and they also had a Ranger pass away that they would like to add something in memory of him.

Motion by Catherine Perkins, seconded by Morgan Gilmore, Motion to recommend to the city council the tourism request for the Spring Fling Festival at the American Farm Heritage Museum in the amount of $750.
