Western Illinois University’s women’s tennis team saw success last week as Mana Fawcett and Jessica Hess were named the Ohio Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week. This is the third time the pair has received this recognition.

Fawcett and Hess competed primarily in the top doubles spot against Milwaukee, securing a win after their opponents retired with a score of 1-0. They also earned a 6-4 victory over Northern Illinois, which clinched the doubles point for Western Illinois.

The Leathernecks continue their spring season with positive momentum. The team will travel to face Northern Iowa before returning home to begin conference play against Southern Indiana.

Western Illinois University Leathernecks Women’s Tennis competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, according to its official website. The program operates out of Macomb, Illinois, and draws student-athletes from various global backgrounds. In previous seasons, they have achieved victories against teams such as IUPUI Jaguars and Coe College.
