Western Illinois University’s football team has seen four of its players earn spots on the 2025 Phil Steele Preseason All-Big South/OVC Teams. This recognition, announced earlier this week, includes accolades for players across offense, defense, and special teams.

Senior wide receiver Demari Davis was named to the Third Team Offense following a strong performance in the 2024 season. Joining him is junior wideout Christian Anaya, who also secured a place on the Third Team Offense, marking them as two of the top returning receivers in their league.

On defense, senior linebacker Christian Pierce received Second Team Defense honors. Pierce is recognized for his leadership and determination and is expected to play a pivotal role in leading the Leatherneck defense this year.

In special teams, senior kicker Antonio Chadha earned First Team Special Teams honors due to his consistent performance and ability to deliver under pressure.

These preseason selections underscore the respect Western Illinois University’s returning talent commands within their conference. The team is set for a competitive season ahead at Hanson Field. The Leathernecks will begin their 2025 season on August 29 against Illinois.
