Former Sawyerville resident Christopher Hicks is asking voters to question GOP gubernatorial candidate Richard Irvin’s past support for President Joe Biden.
“The positive comments Irvin has made regarding Biden should be very concerning to all voters, Biden is hell-bent on destroying America and introducing socialism,” Hicks told the West Central Reporter. “Any individual who supports commie Biden and his administration should not receive the support of any patriotic American.”
In the wake of the 2020 election, the City of Aurora congratulated Biden and Harris.
“Listen, Joe Biden is the president of the United States,” Irvin said when asked who he had voted for. “The city did not similarly congratulate President Donald Trump when he was elected in 2016.”
Irvin’s self-described “baby momma,” Kane County judicial candidate Brittany Michelle Pedersen, has connections to former House Speaker Michael Madigan who is currently under indictment for public corruption. Pedersen assisted with fundraising in former Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s 2002 campaign, which was heavily influenced by her father. She was ousted for bad behavior at a recent dinner in which she was reported as saying she “hates all Republicans,” according to the Kane County Reporter.
Irvin has been characterized as a puppet candidate put to work by billionaire Citadel owner Ken Griffin.
“Griffin wanted to make/mold a winning candidate out of whole cloth,” former state senator and Woodbridge-based attorney Ron Sandack said on Twitter. “He didn’t care that Irvin wasn’t a Republican, he thought (wrongly) he was without a record worth criticizing … he was again wrong.”
Irvin will face State Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia), tech entrepreneur Jesse Sullivan, McHenry County businessman Gary Rabine, former state Sen. Paul Schimpf, Max Solomon and Emily Johnson in the June 28 primary.
