The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Celina Villanueva (D-21) on April 30, “declares October 13, 2019 as “Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day” in the State of Illinois and urges citizens of Illinois to become informed and aware of metastatic breast cancer, and to support funding for programs to reduce barriers to breast cancer screening, detection, and treatment for underserved women,” according to the General Assembly website.
