Sophomore pitcher Libby Spaulding has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week after her performance during Western Illinois University Leathernecks Women’s Softball’s weekend series at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Spaulding pitched nine innings over two appearances, allowing only one run and striking out 13 batters. She recorded a complete-game shutout in game two, leading the Leathernecks to an 8-0 win.

Western Illinois University Leathernecks Women’s Softball competes in NCAA Division I athletics as part of the Ohio Valley Conference. The team plays its home games in Macomb, Illinois, and is one of the university’s intercollegiate sports programs according to the official website https://goleathernecks.com/sports/softball.
