Logan Lommel is saving some of his best work for the end of the season.
The Western Illinois runner put himself into the track and field program’s record book on Thursday night, running the 5000 meters in 14 minutes, 49.78 seconds.
The time ranks Lommel second in program history.
His time also captured the title at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight.
The NCAA West Regional championships are next on the schedule for Western Illinois, with the meet being held next week in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
