McDonough County Board ESDA & Claims Committee met June 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The ESDA & Claims Committee held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3 rd floor, Law Library. Committee Members present were Chair Eric Chapman, Vice Chair Clayton Murphy, Joe Erlandson, and Jack Lowderman. Members Larry Aurelio, Craig Foster, Mike Kirby, and Jarad Royer were absent. Also present was ESDA Director Edgar Rodriguez, County Board Chair Eric Blakeley, Deputy Clerk Deanna Bisby, and Deputy Clerk Kyah Beck. 

Chair Eric Chapman called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

Approval of May, 2025 Minutes

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Murphy to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

ESDA Director Report

Director Edgar Rodriguez gave the report.

Approval of Committee Claims

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Murphy, to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approval of County Claims

Member Murphy moved with a second by Member Erlandson, to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

HMGP Grant Program

A discussion was held regarding the HMGP grant funding. No action was taken by the Committee. More discussion about this grant funding will transpire at the full board meeting.

Public Comment

None.

County Board Chair Comments

Security in the basement is implemented. The last of the courthouse updates will be painting the four entrances. Any yard work that is damaged due to the painting will be fixed.

Member Lowderman moved with a second by Member Murphy to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
