McDonough County Board Finance Committee met March 9.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Joe Erlandson, and Dave Nissen.
Member absent was Vice Chair Larry Aurelio. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes, Patrick Stout, and Keith Krohe.
Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from February 9, 2022
Member Clark moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
MCPT Report Review & Approval
The monthly request for February 2022 was reviewed. Member Cortelyou moved with a second by
Member Erlandson to approve the MCPT Report in the amount of $870.00 for February, 2022. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval
The monthly report for February 2022 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals was reviewed.
Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the February YMCA report in the amount of $677.52. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Coroner Report
The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.
Monthly Financial Reports
The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.
Transfer of Funds
None.
Warrants Issued in Vacation
Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation.
Motion carried on a voice vote. Insurance Update
Keith Krohe gave an update on the Health Insurance Funding Plan. Final costs as of 11-30-21 was about $400,000.00 more than 2020.
State’s Attorney Body Cam
State’s Attorney Kwacala will get more information from the City of Macomb on the cost of the Implementation of how the State’s Attorney’s Office can access them.
Discuss ARPA Funds Action
Member Cox talked to Benton & Associates about the Courthouse maintenance. They will get us a proposal. He will also talk to IMEG.
Approval of Claims
Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Claims as submitted.
Motion carried on a voice vote.
Executive Session
None.
Other
Chair Hiel talked to the Sheriff. Their office will be receiving reimbursement for housing prisoners for the State. The Sheriff would like to put it in a fund for body cams.
County Clerk DeJaynes gave a list of polling places.
A Discussion was held on the Elected Officials salaries. Member Cox believes there should be a 5% increase across the board. Chair Hiel has emailed out several proposals for discussion.
