McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met June 12.

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3 rd Floor, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Ken Durkin, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Dustin Berg, Clayton Cook, Jerry Raby, Ryan Litchfield, and Dana Walker. Others in attendance included Animal Control Officer Zach Welch, Karen Blakeley, Bonnie Skripps, County Chair Eric Blakeley, Deputy Clerk Kyah Beck and County Clerk Jeremy Benson.

Chair Durkin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from May 8, 2025

Member R. Litchfield moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Animal Control Officer, Zach Welch gave the report. There was 21 dogs and 50 cats in the shelter at the end of May.

Humane Society

Several charitable donations have been made to the Humane Society, including a recent $10,000 match from former Macomb resident.

None.

GIS Update

None.

Approval of HR & Planning Claims

Member Cook moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the HR & Planning claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Propane Contract Renewal

The West Central FS Propane contract was not updated. No action was taken.

None.

Public Comment

None.

County Board Chair Comments

Continued maintenance is still being done to the Courthouse. This includes a new secure Courthouse entrance, yard work, and seeding. The yard work is scheduled to be done by Heritage days. The architect, Klingner, is working on the plaque.

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Berg to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
