McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met April 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members present included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Vice Chair Mike Cox, Lee Calvert, George Dixon, and Rod McGrew. Members Craig Foster, Eric Chapman, and Dick Marcott were absent. Other persons in attendance were Dave Cadwalader, Scott Hance, Patrick Stout, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from March 3, 2022

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Project Update

Richard Wilson Yard Culvert

A letter was sent to Mr. Wilson from the Highway Department, Mr. Wilson has not responded to the letter.

Approve Intergovernmental Agreement with South Townships to Seal Coat County Roads Member Cox moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with South Townships to Seal Coat County Roads. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve the Resolution Request for Transportation Sales Tax Funds to Mill and Resurface County Roads Member Cox moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the Resolution Request for Transportation Sales Tax Funds to Mill and Resurface County Roads. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve the Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-99 McDonough County Member Calvert moved with a second by Member Cox to Approve the Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-99 McDonough County. Motion carried on a voice vote.

2022 Oil Coats

Flint Hill is not capable of fulfilling their bid, so the bid will be given to the next lowest bidder.

Truck Order

Mac has cancelled the truck order for 2022, we will not be able to get a truck until 2023 at the earliest.

March Work Report

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Executive Session

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Dixon to enter into Executive Session at 7:16 p.m. for the purpose of discussing personnel.

Member Cox moved with a second by Member McGrew to exit Executive Session at 7:19 p.m.

Member Cox moved with a second by Member McGrew to appoint Megan Crook to the County Engineer position. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Business

None.

County Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that he received a call about the storm siren test being late this month. He talked to Edgar Rodriguez about it, Edgar said that 911 was busy at the normal time of the test so it was late.

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Calvert to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
