McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met Aug. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members present included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Vice Chair Mike Cox, Lee Calvert, Eric Chapman, Craig Foster, and Dick Marcott. Members George Dixon and Rod McGrew were absent. Other persons in attendance: Marlena Lee, Scott Lee, Dave Cadwalader, Patrick Stout, County Engineer Megan Crook, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from June 2, 2022

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve Resolution for Scotland Township Co Aid to Bridge Project #2250-37, (900N-1600E) Member Marcott moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the Resolution for Scotland Township Co Aid to Bridge Project #2250-37, (900N-1600E). Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve Resolution for Mack Truck Purchase

Member Foster moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the Resolution for Mack Truck Purchase. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve Resolution for 2022 Pavement Preservation Letting

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the Resolution for 2022 Pavement Preservation Letting. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve Resolution to Amend FY 2022 Motor Fuel Tax

Member Foster moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the Resolution to Amend FY 2022 Motor Fuel Tax. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Discuss Mack Truck

A discussion was held regarding the warranty on the Mack truck purchased last year and the truck being purchased this year. Engineer Megan Crook will bring back more information next month on the extended warranty.

Project Update

Candy Lane will be having work done. The St. Frances blacktop will be getting oiled and chipped twice this year.

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims

Member Foster moved with a second by Member Cox to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Marlena Lee – Speed Limit on East Grant Street, Macomb

Scott and Marlena Lee discussed with the Committee about having the speed limit reduced on East Grant Street to 45 mph. After the road has been redone cars are traveling at a high rate of speed. A work study would have to be done, Engineer Crook will look in to having a speed study done.

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Foster to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
