The Jerseyville City Council met March 15 to approve the 2016 Motor Fuel Tax estimate of maintenance costs in the amount of $356,154.
The approval was a motion made by Richard Perdun and seconded by Kevin Stork.
The city council also approved the request of the Shriners to hold their paper drive and OK'd a request from the Ainad Shrine Circus for a tourism grant.
A resolution to install a 2-inch water main from the east side of U.S. Highway 67 to a lot located on the west side of the highway led the council into closed session to discuss the purchase of property.
The council meets at City Hall, 115 E. Prairie St.
