The Special Meeting on October 26th will begin at 5:00 pm at the Central Office for the purpose of conducting interviews for the vacant board seat. The meeting will include an action item to appoint the new member. If the decision is not made that night, the vote could be moved to November 2, 2016. The Board should provide a reason or reasons why a particular person is chosen. Superintendent Ptacek recommended that the Board appoint someone who truly only wants to serve temporarily. By doing so, the public would have a voice in electing a permanent member.
President Beard advised that the press release should include all requirements listed in the School Code.
