Godfrey energy committee reviews lighting proposal

The village of Godfrey Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee met Nov. 7 to review a lighting proposal.

Godfrey Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee Meeting November 7, 2016

Nate Keener, Chairman called the meeting of the Godfrey Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee of the Village of Godfrey to order at 10:00 a.m., November 7, 2016, at the Godfrey Village Hall, 6810 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, Illinois.

ROLL CALL: PRESENT Present: Nate Keener, Carolyn Scott, Susan Murray, Don Dieckmann, Pam Whisler, Vannette McConahey, Advisory: Virginia Woulfe-Beile. Absent: Lee Sudlow

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Carolyn Scott moved for the approval of the minute from August 1, 2016; Seconded by Don Dieckmann. Poll of Committee: Ayes-5, Nays-0, Absent-1. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: No public comments at this time.

STRAIGHT UP SOLAR COMMUNITY PRICING PROGRAM UPDATE AND NEXT STEPS: Chairman Keener reported that the Solarize Godfrey Program has been completed and a total of 13 household have sign contracts for solar systems for a total of 150 KW. The next step will be for completion of the systems by Straight Up Solar.

Chairman Keener reported that he has been in contact with Madison County in establishing a Solar Community Pricing Program as a county wide program for next year.

LIGHTING PROPOSAL Chairman Keener reported that A & D Electrical Supply at of Highland, Illinois is working in completing the street light installations.

2017 SCHEDULE FOR GODFREY CLIMATE PROTECTION AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY COMMITTEE Clerk Whisler asked if the Committee would consider changing to the second Monday of each month. Carol Scott moved to establish all meeting for 2017 on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Susan Murray. Poll of Committee: Ayes-5, Nays-0, Absent-1. Motion carried.

SUSTAINABILITY PLAN Chairman Keener asked the Committee reported on changes with the proposed Introduction to the Sustainability Plan for final consideration at the next meeting. The Committee will presented final copy to the Village Board in December or January 2017 for approval.

ADJOURN: Van McConahey moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:42 a.m., seconded by Susan Murray.
