City of Colchester Human Resources and Planning Committee met June 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse in the Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included Chairman Letha Clark, Vice Chairman Mike Cox, Michael Kirby, Terra Litchfield, Larry Aurelio, Travis Hiel, and Dave Nissen. Committee Member Ed Lavin was absent. Others in attendance included Kirsta Lyles, Patrick Stout, County Chairman George Dixon, and Stacey Alexander was present as Committee Secretary.

Chairman Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

Review & Approval of May 9, 2019 Minutes

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the May 9, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Animal Control Officer Kirsta Lyles gave the monthly report. The total numbers of animals in the shelter at the end of May was 5 dogs and 45 cats. Kirsta Lyles is going to speak with Pet Supplies Plus about cats and McAlister’s has contacted her about pairing with the shelter for a celebration. Kirsta Lyles will contact Allen Sheffler in regards to taking care of the mouse problem at the shelter, that was brought to attention by Member Litchfield. County Chairman Dixon had inmates clean up around the shelter road sign.

Motion was made to drop adoption fee on cats and kittens to $25 with chip by Member Hiel and second by Member Nissen. Motion was carried on a voice vote.

No Report.

Claims

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other

Member Litchfield wants to set up with offices and new County Board meetings, to visit the offices and see what is done in each office. Member Litchfield will try to set up something for August.

Adjourn

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Hiel that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
