Q3 2019 Recap: Parolees in Rushville convicted of crimes against children

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Rushville during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 48. The youngest parolee was a 33-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Brian Cano. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2013 when he was 46 years old. He is now 53.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
