Director of Golf Lia Biehl Lukkarinen has announced the addition of two new golfers to Western Illinois University's 2024 team as part of National Signing Day. The recruits, Cianna Law and Caroline Carr, bring strong backgrounds in competitive golf to the Leatherneck Women's Golf team.

"Leatherneck Women's Golf is excited to welcome Cianna Law and Caroline Carr to WIU!" said Director of Golf Lia Biehl Lukkarinen. "Cianna joins us from Canada and is the Alberta Junior Open Champion. Caroline is our Illinois athlete - two-time Medallist from Lincoln-Way East. Their tournament experience and athletic backgrounds will transition well to DI Golf!" Lukkarinen added. "Welcome to Leatherneck Nation!"

Cianna Law hails from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she attended Dr. E.P Scarlett High School. She has been a three-time Junior Club Champion and won the Alberta Junior Open Championship. In the summer of 2023, Law participated in 11 tournaments, securing top-five finishes in eight events, including two second-place finishes and one victory. As a leader at her high school, she captained the golf team and was the first provincial qualifier in over a decade.

Caroline Carr comes from Frankfort, Illinois, where she competed for Lincoln-Way East High School. She led her team to State Sectionals and was a two-time Medalist during her senior year while maintaining a 4.6 GPA as a multi-sport athlete.
