Western Illinois finishes tenth in shortened golf tournament

Western Illinois University's women's golf team completed their third fall tournament at The Big O Classic, securing 10th place out of 12 teams. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to bad weather.

Senior Natalie Hooper performed strongly, starting with a score of 37 (+1) on the front nine. She ended the first round with a score of 77 (+4). In the second round, Hooper began with a birdie and finished with a score of 76 (+3), tying for ninth place overall with a total score of 153 (+7).

Another senior, Hannah Butler, also had a notable performance. Despite a slow start in the first round, she managed three birdies on the back nine and finished with a score of 79 (+6). In the second round, Butler continued her strong play and concluded the tournament tied for 31st place with seven birdies and a total score of 159 (+13).

The team will compete next at the Bradley Invitational on October 7 and October 8.

- Hannah Butler: T31 (+13)

- Olivia Kerr: T36 (+14)

- Makayla Mussatto: T62 (+26)

- Abby Hunter: 68 (+35)
