Western Illinois University's women's golf team is set to begin their spring season at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate tournament. The event will take place on February 13-14 at Wigwam Golf & Country Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona. This course features a par 71 layout and spans 6,058 yards.
The Leathernecks' lineup includes seniors Natalie Hooper and Olivia Kerr, who led the team during their last fall tournament at The Judson. Kerr finished tied for 32nd with a score of +13, while Hooper placed 46th with a score of +19. Kerr was among the top three scorers for WIU in four out of five fall tournaments. Hooper aims to build on her performance from last season, which included one top-10 finish.
The competition includes teams from several universities: Abilene Christian University, Akron University, Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, Butler University, Cal State Bakersfield University, Creighton University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Illinois University, the University of Dayton, the University of Idaho, the University of Montana, and the University of Toledo.
Rounds one and two will be played on the first day of the tournament followed by round three on the second day. The starting lineup for Western Illinois consists of Natalie Hooper in position one followed by Olivia Kerr, Olivia McCrystal, Makayla Mussatto, and Hannah Butler.
