The Western Illinois University Women's Golf Team has announced the addition of two new student-athletes to its 2026 recruiting class. The team will welcome Birna Rut Snorradottir from Iceland and Laura Cheng Milsgaard from Denmark.

Snorradottir, who is set to graduate from Gleraskoli in Mosfellsbær, Iceland, has achieved notable results in her home country. She placed fifth in the Icelandic National Adult Tour during her senior year and previously won the GM Elite Tournament as a junior. In her sophomore year, she earned both GM and NK Elite titles.

Milsgaard, graduating this June from Borupgaard Gymnasium in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a member of Smørum Golf Club. She qualified for the Danish national championships in 2024 and finished among the top three in three out of seven tournaments she entered. Milsgaard said that choosing Western Illinois was influenced by "the facilities, coaching staff, and team culture," which she believes will support her development as both a student and an athlete.
