Western Illinois University's cross country teams are preparing to compete at the NCAA Regional Meet in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The event will take place on Friday, November 14, with the women's 6K race starting at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 10 a.m. Five men and six women from Western Illinois will participate.
The meet features some of the top-ranked collegiate cross country teams in the country. Details about course maps for both women and men are available online, as well as live timing for those who wish to follow along remotely. Updates will also be provided through the team's social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
In their most recent outing, Western Illinois competed at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships. The women's team saw several personal bests: Lydia Bennett led with a time of 21:38.10 in the 6K, which is now third all-time in program history and earned her an eighth-place finish. Other notable performances included Minori Hudson (22:41.09), Emma Kate Watt (22:45.14), Aurora Dominguez (22:52.06), and Finley Hancock (22:59.71), all achieving personal records.
Additional contributors were Aylana Cezar (23:09.07), Lily Patterson (23:37.99), Ellie Eastman (23:42.26), Ava Gorrie (23:57.84), and Cassandra Brushaber (24:26.02). The women's team finished sixth overall in team standings.
On the men's side, Logan Beckmier led with a personal-best time of 25:23.65 in the 8K for a 26th-place finish, followed by Robert Perry (25:48.53) and Brody Harker (25:57.35). Eason Comer achieved a personal best of 26:35.56; Evan Eberhart finished with a time of 27:13.52; Richard Brown completed his run in 28:28.64.
The men's team placed eighth overall at the championship meet, marking a season highlighted by multiple personal records across both squads.
