Tracy talks state government with Central Junior High students: ‘These great young men and women are learning about the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions’

State Sen. Jil Tracy discussed the Illinois General Assembly and state’s Constitution during a visit to social studies classes at Central Junior High School. 

In a post on Facebook, Tracy, a Republican representing the state’s 47th Senate District. Spoke to three social studies classes at the school. 

“These great young men and women are learning about the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions, and I was able to discuss my role in the State Senate, explain how our state government works, and engage in a fun Q & A session,” she said in a Facebook post. “Special thanks to Mrs. Rebekah Wintjen for inviting me. Our future is bright.” 

In a separate post on Facebook, Tracy noted that she also participated Sept. 27 in a Senior Health Far at the Kroc Center in Quincy with State Rep. Randy Frese

Tracy also shared information on Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs in a Facebook post,

“The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that provides qualifying households with monetary relief for their energy bills,” Tracy said, according to the Galesburg Reporter. “More information can be obtained by calling 1-877-411-WARM (9276) or visiting https://www.ameren.com/…/resid…/energy-assistance/liheap.”

According to the Galesburg Reporter, Tracy also expressed her support for the 988 suicide prevention hotline.

 “The 988 Mental Health Crisis Line isn’t just for people having a crisis themselves, but also for those worried about a loved one,” Tracy said, according to the publication.
