The Western Illinois University Leathernecks men’s baseball team lost to Illinois, 8-21, in a midweek matchup on March 11 at Illinois Field.
The game saw the Leathernecks record eight runs on eight hits, including home runs from Liam Bushey, Paul Osting, and Josh McClintock. Gage Hoover contributed a double, while Wandel Campana added a stolen base. Despite the offensive efforts, Illinois secured the win with 17 hits and strong scoring throughout the contest.
Several pitchers took the mound for Western Illinois during the game. JT Fabian started before William Humphrey, Karsten Stotlar, Dylan Kaminski, Anthony Steinhoff, Cade Sonoqui, Alex Esker, and Jacob Golson appeared in relief.
Western Illinois University Leathernecks Men’s Baseball competes at the NCAA Division I level according to the official website.
