Western Illinois University Leathernecks Men’s Baseball defeated Little Rock 8-5 after a close contest that shifted in the seventh inning, according to an April 5 announcement from the team.

However, Joe Connolly and Liam Bushey reached base to set up Gage Hoover’s two-run double that put Western back ahead. Monge added another run batted in during that frame, making it 8-5. Harrison Dubois then pitched three scoreless innings to finish out the win.
Western Illinois finished with seven hits; Hoover and Monge led offensively while Connolly scored three times.
