The Western Illinois University Leathernecks Women’s Softball team lost the final game of a three-game series against Tennessee Tech on April 5, following two wins in a doubleheader the previous day.

Western Illinois responded in the fourth inning when Kennedy Highley hit an RBI double that scored Angie Ortiz, followed by Rylee German’s sacrifice fly for another run. However, Tennessee Tech extended its advantage with additional runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Despite scoring twice more in the sixth, Western Illinois ultimately fell short with a final score of 12-4.
