Jason Buhl started on the mound for Western Illinois and took the loss after giving up four earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Cade Sonoqui provided relief pitching, allowing four hits but keeping Lindenwood from scoring further. All four of Lindenwood’s runs came during a fifth-inning rally that included five hits and two sacrifice flies.
Kamryn Link led Western Illinois at bat by going two-for-four with a double. Joe Connolly also hit a double, while Isaiah Monge, Cordell Coburn, and Josh McClintock each added singles. The team’s only run was scored by McClintock in the eighth inning off an RBI from Liam Bushey.
Western Illinois University Leathernecks Men’s Baseball operates from Macomb, Illinois as part of its collegiate athletic program in the sports sector, according to the official website.
