On the pitching side, junior Lillie Wools picked up both wins over Tennessee Tech by appearing in all three games and throwing a total of 10.1 innings while striking out seven batters. Other notable performances include Maria Luna ranking second in doubles within the conference with ten, and Libby Spaulding being tied for second among pitchers with fifty-nine strikeouts.
Illinois (10-28, 2-9 B1G) comes into this contest after splitting its recent series against Michigan State. Junior Skylar Brennan leads her team with a .351 batting average this year and ranks eighteenth in hits within her conference with thirty-eight hits so far. Sophomore Ellie Haggard has hit eight home runs this season—most on her team—with junior Eileen Donahue trailing close behind at seven homers while leading her team with twenty-six RBIs across twenty-eight games played.
