Western Illinois University Football announced on April 13 that it is entering the last two weeks of its Player Enhancement Fund campaign, urging supporters, alumni, and the Leatherneck community to help reach a $125,000 fundraising goal. The campaign will conclude at the Bruce Craddock Memorial Spring Football Game on April 25.

The effort aims to enhance resources and opportunities for Leatherneck football student-athletes both on and off the field. Organizers say funds raised will support development, well-being, and success for players throughout their college careers.

A key fundraising event is the 11th Annual Rock’s Gridiron Golf Classic scheduled for Friday, April 24. This event offers participants a chance to engage with the program while contributing to its goals. Donations to the Player Enhancement Fund will continue beyond April 25 as ongoing support remains important for sustaining year-round improvements.

Western Illinois University Leathernecks Men’s Football hosts home games in Macomb, Illinois, according to the official website. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level and holds membership in the Ohio Valley Conference according to official sources.

The program has seen notable achievements in past seasons. Aaron Stecker stands out as a former player who rushed for nearly 1,960 yards and scored 24 touchdowns in 1997 according to university records. Western Illinois also secured conference titles in years such as 1997 and 1998 along with playoff appearances as reported by school officials.

Supporters are encouraged by organizers to contribute through direct donations or by participating in upcoming events before time runs out on this year’s fundraising drive.
