WIU BOT Action

At today’s (Dec. 1) Western Illinois University Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved two collective bargaining agreements and a change to the Cost Guarantee.

Agreements were approved with the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Council 31, AFL-CIO 417-Building Services and AFSCME, Council 31, AFL-CIO 417-Clerical.

Beginning with the Fall 2023 semester, Western’s Cost Guarantee will continue to hold tuition rates level for four years of continuous enrollment for undergraduate students, but will no longer include a cost freeze for fees, room and meal plan for new undergraduate students (current undergraduate students will remain grandfathered into the current structure).

The Board set 2023 meeting dates and heard reports on enrollment management and diversity initiatives. The complete BOT book, including all action items/resolutions and reports, is available at wiu.edu/bot. The audio livestream of the meeting can be found on WIU’s YouTube Channel at youtube.com/user/WesternIllinoisU.

The next meeting will be March 23-24, 2023 at the WIU-Quad Cities campus.
