Mike DeSutter, a Republican running for state representative in the 74th District, recently voiced his support for Gov. Bruce Rauner's establishment of a private economic development corporation.
"I agree with Gov. Rauner's executive action this week to establish a privately run and funded economic development corporation to take over a state agency's role in cultivating new businesses to move to Illinois," DeSutter said. "Private funds are estimated to kick in millions of dollars to this nonprofit group. I applaud Gov. Rauner for getting Illinois moving and to spur job growth in Illinois."
Rauner formed the Illinois Business and Economic Development Corp. through an executive action earlier this month. The stated goal of the corporation is to entice business leaders to bring jobs to Illinois.
