The Greenfield Community Unit School District (CUSD) No. 10 board examined preliminary PARCC test scores at a recent meeting.
Superintendent Kevin Bowman said the district led the area with an overall meet/exceed percentage of 41 percent. Bowman further said Greenfield students exceeded Illinois state averages and believed this was cause for congratulations to all students, parents, teachers and staff.
District Librarian Elayne Willis is undergoing a process to streamline and reorganize the libraries in both buildings of the district library. There are 11,000 books available for elementary school students and 3,000 available for high school students. Willis told the board that the new Accelerated Reader Program has greatly improved the library. Almost 90 percent of current books are now available through the program.
Additional highlights from the meeting included the approval of the health/life/safety survey on the high school gym, a reported on damage to a football field concession stand door that needs to be replaced and a discussion on the long-range facilities planning directive.
