Lanphier High School senior Xavier Bishop signs with UMKC

Lanphier High School guard Xavier Bishop recently signed with the UMKC basketball team.

Lanphier High School senior Xavier Bishop recently signed an offer to play NCAA Division I basketball for the University of Missouri - Kansas City, starting next season.

Bishop is 5-8 and played guard for the team. In his last season at Lanphier, he became the school's all-time leading scorer, eclipsing the 2,067-point record of Richard McBride.

Bishop chose UMKC over offers from Quinnipiac, DePaul, Virginia Military Institute, Central Michigan, California-Davis, Illinois State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
