The Jacksonville Public Library Board of Trustees met April 11 to approve financial reports and payments of $53,322 out of general funds.

The board received an update on the panels repair and front steps repair projects and work is set to begin at the beginning of April.

A two-part program on acclaimed street photographer Vivian Maier was held in March; Dr. Seuss’ birthday was celebrated with a reading group on March 2; and the library staff updated the board on its website development.

Other March events included Addie Gramelspacher and Terri Benz performing for Music Under the Dome; a screening of the film Examined Life as part of the Humanities Film series; and the Book Club discussing "The New Jim Crow" by Michelle Alexander.

The Jacksonville library board meets at 201 W. College Ave.
