This weekend will see 70 artists converge at Washington Park in Quincy for the Midsummer Arts Faire, a nonprofit organization focused on the fine arts and keeping them alive in the community.
The event will begin with Blues in the District, followed by a fine art show, performances by local musicians, Art for Everyone sessions, a photo-op garden, and a young collectors gallery. Participating artists will display their paintings, sculptures, ceramics pieces and jewelry, among other items.
The judge for the event will be metalsmith artist Peg Fetter, who earned a master of fine arts from Washington University in St. Louis after receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree from Winthrop University in South Carolina. She is now a teacher at Craft Alliance of St. Louis University and Fontbonne University and hosts metalcraft workshops throughout the United States.
