The River Forest Board of Education met June 27 in closed session to discuss the appointment of a person to fill a public office.
The board is the governing body for all schools in District 90. The board consists of seven members who as a group have the authority to adopt, enforce and monitor all policies for the management and governance of the district’s schools.

MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING June 27, 2016
The Special Meeting of the Board of Education of School District #90, Cook County, Illinois, was called to order in the Administration Building, 7776 Lake Street, River Forest, Illinois on June 27, 2016, at 6:01 p.m.
The following Board Members responded present on roll call:
Mr. Ralph Martire, President ROH.L CALL Mrs. Anne Gottlieb, Vice President Mr. Richard Moore, Secretary Mrs. Barbara Hickey Mr. David Latham
Administrator present: Dr. Ed Condon, Superintendent
Recording Secretary: Dr. Ed Condon, Superintendent
Community present:
Susan Altier, parent Nick Aftier, parent
Mr. Martire welcomed visitors and invited comments from the audience. A copy of the Speakers Roster as well as the Attendance Roster is included in the official minutes.
Public Comment Susan Altier, 12 Ashland expressed disappointment with the Board
discussion at the June 20" meeting on the subject of the Madison T?F.
Nick Altier, 12 Ashland expressed significant disagreement and disappointment with the positions of the Board and Administrators on the subject of the Madison THF.
It was moved by Mrs. Hickey and seconded by Mrs. Gottlieb that A (GENDA the Board of Education approve the agenda as presented. APPROVED On call of the roll, the vote was as follows:.
Ayes: Mr. Martire, Mrs. Hickey, Mr, Moore, Mrs. Gottfieb, Mr. Latham Nays: none The motion carried.
Special Meeting, June 27, 2016
It was moved by Mr. Moore and seconded by Mrs. IIickey that the Board of Education move into closed session in order to discuss 3) The selection of a person to fill a public office, as defined in this Act, including a vacancy in a public office, when the public body is given power to appoint under law or ordinance, or the discipline, performance or removal of the occupant of a public office, when the public body is given power to remove the occupant under law or ordinance.
On roli call, the vote was as follows:
Ayes: Mrs. Hickey, Mr. Martire, Mr. Moore, Mr. Latham,
Mrs. Gottlieb Nays: none
The motion carried and the Board moved into closed session at CLOSED SESSION approximately 6:11 p.m.
The Board returned to open session with the same members present at approximately 8:39 p.m.
It was moved by Mr. Moore and seconded by Mrs. Gottlieb and ADJOURNMENT unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned. The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:40 p.m,
