The village of Godfrey Special Projects Sewer Committee met Sept. 7 to purchase a tractor.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the committee:

"The commission meets at 5 p.m. on the First Wednesday of each month at Village Hall."

Special Projects Sewer Committee GODFREY, ILLINOIS September 7th, 2016

Mr. Weber called the Special Projects Sewer Committee Meeting of the Village of Godfrey to order at 5:00 p.m. on September 7th, 2016 at the Village Hall, 6810 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, Illinois.

ROLL CALL:

Present: Jeff Weber, Keith Sherman, Bill Orrill, Joe Springman, Jerry Gibson, Joe

Hughes, Carl Arnold, Lowell Beuttel, William Catalano, Curt Westrich and Craig Noble.

Absent: Mike Stumpf

Visitors:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – The minutes of the July 6th, 2016 meeting were approved as written. (No August Meeting)

Public Comments:

Old Business Special Service Area/Tap on Costs-Route 3 Extension/Future Collection System: No Report.

Impact I-255-Potential Sewer Development at the Northwest Quadrant of the Village: No report.

Villa Marie Water Issues- A representative from Heneghan & Associates and a sewer department staff member will walk the subdivision this fall to look for sinkholes, open clean outs and other seepage problem areas. ADS data is complete. Modeling software for use of the Village is in process.

Juneau engineering is in process of doing the proper paperwork and agreement to connect the Villa Marie interceptor sewer line.

Frontenac Lift Station SSO- No report.

North East Interceptor Upgrade- Easements still need to be obtained from Walmart, Lewis & Clark College and one other from a resident. They are working towards obtaining them soon. Heneghan & Associates are in the process of surveying a proposed sewer line to the Lewis and Clark Apartments Complex.

Warren Levis Lagoon Survey- No Report

Cure in Place- Mr. Noble said that he is waiting for pricing for a multiple year contract. Staff of the sewer department will prioritize pipes that are most needed for lining. The Modeling software will help determine other problem areas too.

Sanitary Sewer Relocation – No Report.

Design Proposal for the plant Lift Station and Sodium Hypo Chlorine Building- Mayor McCormick has signed the contractual agreement. There will be a new chlorine building installed for the new liquid chlorine process. The plant lift station will be replaced and the old underground station will be removed. Both new structures will solve some safety issues.

Lakeside Emergency Sewer Line Replacement due to Erosion. The Board approved Juneau and Associated for construction plans for the first 150 feet / Phase

1. There is a long range plant to relocate the line more to the west.

Rockgate Erosion Problem near the Lift Station Juneau & Associates are inspecting a manhole that is exposed at the creek.

Comments from the Capital Projects Committee- No Report

NEW BUSINESS

A. EPA Update- The EPA wants a deadline of September 30th, 2016 for reporting.

The last board meeting before the deadline is September 20th to finish up reporting, otherwise, it will be submitted in October.

1. ADS Echo Flow Monitoring System - Monitors will be placed in 4 locations

for real time flow measurements. Villa Marie, Milspring, L&C Apartments, and Frontenac are the locations chosen. A 5th location may be installed at Pearl. The monitors will be purchased and owned by the Village.

2. Rain gauges- The village will install rain gauges in areas of Godfrey for collecting data. One around the Street Department, Rockgate lift station and WL Lagoon.

3. Tractor Purchase Approval- The board approved the purchase of a John Deere tractor with lift for the sewer department. 4. WWTP Clarifier Repairs- Mr. Noble said that the gasket around the clarifiers failed due to short circuit. Cost to replace is around $20,000.00.

Stanka lift station pump repair cost is $4,200.00. Mr. Sherman made a motion to adjourn at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Hughes seconded. Motion carried.
