Jerseyville City Council met Tuesday, Nov. 8.
The Jerseyville City Council makes laws, budgets city money, investigates city agencies and employees as needed, and generally serves as the legislative division of the municipal government. The council meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

NOVEMBER 8, 2016
The Jerseyville City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Jerseyville City Hall. Roll call: Present were Commissioners Steve Pohlman, Kevin Stork, Gary Goetten, Richard Perdun and Mayor Bill Russell. Also present was City Attorney Bill Strang.
Comm. Pohlman led the opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
A motion was made by Comm. Pohlman and seconded by Comm. Perdun, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting on October 25, 2016, Roll call vote showed all aye, no nays, motion carried.
A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Pohlman, to approve the bills as presented which totaled $257,158.23. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
The bids submitted for the purchase of a new frontend loader were opened and discussed, all reflect the trade-in offer; 1) Erb Equipment, 93,475.00; 2) Sievers Equipment, 115,845.00; 3)Rudd Equipment, 120,893.00; 4) Bobcat, 122,962.00. A motion was made by Comm. Perdun, seconded by Comm. Stork to approve the bid of Erb Equipment at $93,475.00. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
The bid submitted for the sale of a 97 Chevrolet Truck was opened. It was from Southside Auto in the amount of $310.00. A motion was made by Comm. Goetten, seconded by Comm. Stork, to approve the bid of Southside Auto to purchase the 1997 Chevy Truck from the City in the amount of $310. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
Discussion was held concerning an agreement with the EPA regarding the location of an air monitoring system. EPA’s request was to place the system on City property at 21965 Maple Summit Rd (the Sewer Plant). A motion was made by Comm. Goetten, seconded by Comm. Perdun to table a decision on the agreement until Attorney Bill Strang received a response from EPA concerning the final draft of the document. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
Mayor Russell reminded the community that the annual Veterans’ Day Parade is 11/11/16 and asked that we all honor the memory & show our gratitude to any veterans served in the armed forces. He also mentioned the passing of Ed Test, former football coach, teacher and school board member and offered the condolences of the City to his family.
With no public comment and no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Goetten to adjourn the meeting at 6:16 p.m. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried.
