It won't be business as usual anymore for 42 Western Illinois University (WIU) College of Business and Technology who have been invited to join the business-oriented Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) honor society.
Membership in the society is considered the highest recognition for those enrolled in an accredited business program. Members must score in the top 10 percent of their class in sophomore, junior or senior years, or be in the top 20 percent of their master of business administration or master of accountancy classes.
The initiates will be inducted at a 12:30 p.m. banquet on April 2 in the University Union Lamoine Room.
Over the past 30 years, WIU has inducted more than 500 students into the international honor society. WIU's chapter of BGS is noted as a chapter of distinction and a BGS bronze key is on display in Stipes Hall.
