Spoon River Valley Community Unit School District 4 Board met July 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm.
2. Roll Call: Present: Ms. Angela Braten Mr. Mark Thomas
Dr. Patricia Eathington Mr. Gary Tompkins
Mrs. Lynn Phelps Mr. Warren Utsinger
Mrs. Lisa Quick
Absent:
Staff: Superintendent Christopher Janssen
PreK - 12 Principal Jody Collier
3. Amendments: None
4. Public Comment: Community members shared thoughts/opinions/concerns and asked questions in regards to the possible junior high sports co-op.
5. Break - Board Reconvened in the Boardroom:
6. Call For Closed Session: The board moved to Closed/Executive session at 6:56pm following a motion by Mrs. Quick and seconded by Dr. Eathington to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the district. The motion passed 7-0.
Return to Open Session: The board returned to open session at 7:10pm. following a motion by Ms. Braten and seconded by Mr. Utsinger. The motion passed 7-0
7. New Business/Discussion and Action
Approved: 7.1. A motion was made by Mr. Utsinger and seconded by Mrs. Quick to approve hiring Julia McConkey as an Elementary teacher. The motion passed 7-0.
8. Adjournment The board adjourned at 7:18 pm following a motion by Mrs. Phelps.
