Quincy City Council met July 24.

Here is the agenda provided by the Council:

Wards 2,4,5,6 By Miss Quincy Scholarship Program, requesting permission to participate in a Charitable Street Collection on August 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., standing at the intersections of 24th & Harrison, 18th & State and 18th & Chestnut. Rain date is scheduled for August 26th. They will provide signed waivers to the Clerk before the event and will be wearing reflective vests and have clearly posted signs announcing the Charity/Cause at the intersections.

Annual Report of the Recycling Division:

Resolutions-

Deputy Chief of Police and Police Aldermanic Committee recommending approval of reimbursing Northwestern University in the amount of $5,380 for housing at Homestead Inn, Evanston, IL for Lt. Katherine Schisler attending a ten week course.

Central Services Director and Central Services Committee recommending approval of the quote from Luby in the amount of $83,000 for a new 2017 Case 321F HS Compact Wheel Loader.

Aeronautics Committee and Airport Director recommending approval of a second year renewal of liability insurance with QBE North America through Cason, Huff and Schlueter in the amount of $8,211.

The resolution by the City Clerk recommending approval of resolution to start City Council Meetings at 7:00 p.m. a temporary trial period for the month of August was table for one week by Ald. Ernst.

The resolution of support for the establishment of Uber App through Uber Technologies Inc. in Quincy was tabled for one week by Ald. Heinecke.

Ward 5 An Ordinance Amending Title VII (Traffic Code) Of Chapter 81 (Traffic Schedules) Of The Municipal Code Of The City Of Quincy Of 2015. (“Stop” at S. 28th & Midlan)

First presentation of an ordinance entitled:

Ward 5 The ordinance entitled An Ordinance Amending Title VIII (Traffic Code) Of Chapter 82 (No Parking Zones) Of The Municipal Code Of The City Of Quincy 2015. (Remove parking along the north side of South Holford Dr., commencing at a point 100 ft. west of the west curb line of West Holford Dr. and extending west a distance of 42 ft.) was tabled for three weeks by Ald. Rein.
